And it is a LTS version - that is, a Long Term Support version. Support would be provided till 2011 for the desktop edition (and till 2013 for the server edition).

How did the upgrade go!
So Vyoma, did you finally complete your desktop upgrade? How long did it take? And how did it go?
Upgrade was done with out a glitch!
It had about 800 MB to download I guess, and took around 3 hours for the full upgrade process.
