The Story Of A WebHost Shift

I just finished verifying that each of the sites have been properly shifted to new host. Here are the links to my earlier blog posts that give a peek at what was going on:

I learned few things in this process. The rough outline of steps to move to a new host are as follows:

1. Set the nameservers of the domain name to point to the new host
2. Download all files from old host
3. Export databases from old host
4. Delete all parked domains and addon domains from old host
5. Upload all files to new host
6. Import databases into new host
7. Park domain and addon domain at new host

And most important of all, take backups. Never forget to take backups. Backup is the savior!
